01About the project
Kumtel Home Appliances is a leading brand in built-in sets, ovens, heaters and small appliances across Turkey and international markets. As part of its digital transformation strategy, it moved product presentation on e-commerce platforms from classic 2D photography to interactive photorealistic 3D models and web-based augmented reality (WebAR) experiences.
02Category challenges and brand needs
2D photos in traditional online stores fail to convey product dimensions, the volume they occupy and real material texture in context. For built-in kitchen appliances especially, hesitations like “will it fit my counter?” or “how will it look with my kitchen color?” raised cart abandonment, while wrong size choices drove returns. The brand needed a fast, high-performance visualization layer that required no app download.
03The solution
Millimeter-accurate photorealistic 3D digital twins were built from detailed product references of the flagship catalog. App-free WebAR let shoppers try products at true 1:1 scale in one tap from a mobile browser. A WebGL 3D engine with real-time lighting, running at 60 FPS across devices, was integrated into the e-commerce stack with zero code overhead.
04Measurable results
Observed performance after integration: conversion rate rose on 3D and WebAR-enabled product pages; true-to-scale in-room try-on reduced size-related returns; time on page increased and engagement grew.
